CORNING, N.Y. – John G. Ullman & Associates President & Chief Operating Officer, Jason Nickerson, CFP, EA, was honored with the Eileen Collins ’76 Professional Achievement Award by SUNY Corning Community College at a ceremony held last Friday.
This prestigious annual award, presented by the Corning Community College Development Foundation, recognizes alumni who have achieved excellence and demonstrated continuous growth in their professional fields.
“I am truly honored and grateful to receive the Eileen Collins ’76 Professional Achievement Award,” Nickerson remarked. “This award reflects the invaluable guidance and support I’ve received since starting with JGUA 26 years ago. I am especially thankful for those who have shaped my journey—many of whom may not even realize the impact they’ve had on my life and career.”
Nickerson’s journey began at Watertown High School, Class of 1993. Drawn to SUNY Corning Community College for its community and opportunities, he made the unconventional choice to pursue his education away from home. After graduating from SUNY CCC in 1995, Nickerson, alongside his wife and fellow CCC alum, Kristina (Peris) Nickerson, continued their studies at Salisbury University before returning to Corning to establish their careers and family.
Nickerson joined John G. Ullman & Associates in 1998 as an Account Coordinator in the Client Accounting Department, where he quickly aligned with the firm’s client-centric vision. Over the past 26 years, he has advanced through nearly every department, each role deepening his expertise and enriching his career.
In 2023, he was named President, a position he views as a testament to the mentorship, inspiration, and encouragement he’s received from colleagues, mentors, and family alike. Beyond his professional achievements, Nickerson is known for his deep commitment to community.
Together with his wife, Krissy, he has instilled values of teamwork, integrity, and service in their children.
His dedication extends beyond family life, as he actively coaches youth sports, volunteers in classrooms to teach personal finance, and frequently presents on financial literacy at local colleges and community organizations—sharing knowledge he believes to be essential for personal empowerment.
In reflecting on this honor, Nickerson expressed heartfelt gratitude for the people and mentors who have guided him along the way. He dedicates this recognition to the supportive relationships that have been instrumental to his success and remains committed to giving back to his community.
